Ripon Youth Football late registration is open until July 31st

Registration must be submitted by July 31st and payment received by July 31st to be considered complete.  Once registration is closed, Ripon Youth Football takes action to create teams and designate coaches based off the number of completed registrants.

The Ripon Youth Football Annual Parent Meeting is on July 15th at 6:30pm in the Ripon High School Commons area (west side of the school).  This is a time to discuss the upcoming season, changes, and questions from parents are welcome. 

July 15th is the last day of registration for both Flag and Tackle programs.  Go to the Home page of this website and click on Registration.

Hello Parents,


We hope that you have had an amazaing year and will have an even more amazing summer.  Just wanted to let you know a few things:

1. Our annual meeting is a week from today, Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the Ripon High School Commons room.  Please plan on being there to discuss the upcoming season, learn about changes, and ask any questions you may have about the program.

2. Many of you may have seen the flyers that went home with your students today.  We apologize as there is a typo.  Flag will again be any student who is registered as a 1st - 6th grade student for the 2018-2019 school year.  Tackle is any student registered within the Ripon Area School District in grades 7 and 8 for the 2018-2019 school year.  When registering please register your child at the grade level they will be in for the 2018-2019 school year.

3.  Registration is now open for anyone wishing to sign their child up.

4. The Ripon High School Football program is again putting on a skills camp this summer.  This year the date is Monday July 23rd from 6:00pm - 8:30pm for any student registered as a 3rd - 8th grader in the 2018-2019 school year.

5. If you have not already done so and are on Facebook please add us as a friend as most updates get posted there first.

Hello Families!!!! Can you believe tackle football practice starts in less then a month! Flag football practice starts in less then 2 months!

Tackle Parents - You only have until Saturday to get your child registered for this year at regular price. Starting Sunday there is a $25 late fee until registration closes on August 1st. Please if you have any questions or concerns about anything get in touch with Amber or another member of the board. We are very easy to work with if you talk to us!

Flag Parents - Great news!!! We have decided to extend registration. You now have until July 31st to register at the regular price. After there will be a $25 late fee until registration closes on September 7. With that said, we will be picking teams on August 30th so we great encourage you get signed up before then so we can have the best look at teams. First game is September 16th so that only gives coaches 2 weeks to practice with teams after the draft before game time. Please if you have any questions or concerns about anything get in touch with Amber or another member of the board. We are very easy to work with if you talk to us!

Ok families mark your calendars for Wednesday May 31st at 6:00. We will have our annual meeting at this time. We will either be in the community room or in the commons both are at the High School.

Our registration is now open.  We have changed our program so flag football is now 1st - 6th grade and tackle is 7th and 8th.  Our tackle program is no longer a memeber of the Heart of the Valley League.  We have moved to the Flyway conference.  We also have a skills clinic which is being offered free of charge by the high school coaches for grades 3rd - 8th grade.  This will be a 1 night clinic for kids to learn fundamentals.  The clinic is Monday, July 24th from 6pm - 8pm at Ingalls Field.  Your child is encouraged to attend.  If your child can make it please register them so we can let the coaches know how many kids to expect and what ages.

Please note that this year we do have hard dates for registration ending.  You can register your child up until 7/15 with the same rates as last year: flag is $60  and tackle is $100 with a family cap of $160.  If you register your child after 7/15 there is an additional $25 late fee.  After 8/1 if you register your child will added to a wait list and only able to participate if a child drops out or moves.

Tackle Parents,

Mark your calendars. Equipment hand-in will be on Tuesday October 11, 2016 from 4:30 - 6:30. Please have all equipment clean and washed and return it to the equipment room at this time. If you cannot make it you need to contact Amber to make alternate arraignments.

***Please note you only need to turn in the new game jersey. Your player may keep the old one***

**Cleaning Instructions**
Please clean all of the equipment prior to bringing it back to our clean equipment room. I am sure your kids enjoyed the equipment while sweating, so we do need it cleaned up!

Helmet: Please wash (use a mild soap mixture ONLY - No Chemicals Please) the inside and outside of the helmet, around the pads and snaps and dry to a shine.

Shoulder Pads: Please wipe off the plastic parts of any dirt or debris. You do not need to wash the cloth parts

Pants: Please wash the pants and line dry

Jersey: Please wash the jersey.

We will not be holding our originally planned skills camp this summer.

The camp was orginally scheduled for July 11th and 18th.  Due to lack of volunteer coaches we need to cancel.

This past Saturday was our only scheduled equipment handout. If your child did not attend it is now up to your to reach out to Amber to get your child fitted for their equipment. She will make every effort to make herself available when it's convenient for you to get your child in. Please either call, text, or email her to make arraignments as soon as possible. ***REMINDER**The Ripon Youth Football Annual meeting has been rescheduled for May 18th, 6:30 at the High School


Equipment Handout Date

6th - 8th Grade Equipment Handout is scheduled for ONE DAY ONLY this year.  It will be on June 11th from 9:00AM - 12:00 noon.  Please bring your tackle football player to 417 Scott Street (Our Equipment Room) during that time frame to be fitted for their tackle football gear.


Concussion Impact Testing Dates

Athletes and Parents.  We will be starting our concussion baseline testing this spring for our fall sports.  With construction there is no guarantee we will have computers available during July and August when testing previously took place.  These testing sessions are for any athlete that will be entering a fall sports season who has either never been tested or hasn't been tested for two years.  Having a test on file that is less than two years old will give providers the best opportunity to return an athlete to sport safety and with minimal disruption.

Testing will take place at the Middle School in the computer lab located on the second floor of RMS in the library.  Athletes must sign up for a session or there is no guarantee a computer will be available.  Please fill out the attached consent form and send it with your son or daughter at the time of testing.

May 1, 2006 - Welcome to the 2016 Ripon Youth Football Season!

The Ripon Youth football board of directors has been preparing for our 2016 season, and we wanted you all to be aware of some IMPORTANT CHANGES!  

  1. We are looking for new board members to join us in leading the organization.   If you have an interest in assisting with the behind the scenes leadership of Ripon Youth Football, please email me or call me directly.  I am specifically looking for people who have the energy and passion for youth football and understand the importance of leading a K-8th grade program that promotes the ideals of good sportsmanship, honestly, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority in the youth that enroll in our program. Without new volunteers joining our board we will not be able to sustain the quality programming we offer this community.We could benefit from a few extra helping hands, so call me and I will find a spot for you!  
  2. Our program is championing several changes as to how we approach youth football in Ripon.  

These changes are significant, exciting, and embraced by the Ripon High School coaching staff and athletic leadership.  

These changes include:

  • 4th and 5th Grade TACKLE football is being eliminated from our program in 2016. Historically 4th grade has played at the YMCA, and for the past couple years our 5th grade team has played a condensed season against, Oshkosh, Fond du lac, and Wrightstown.  We belong to the Heart of the Valley conference and currently that is a 6th-8th grade league.  The YMCA, after this year, will not be offering tackle football.  The Ripon Youth Football board, again in partnership with the high school, agree that even with these league changes, the benefits of tackle football at the 4th and 5th grade are minimal at best. We are on or slightly ahead of the curve nationally in making this decision to eliminate tackle football for these two age groups form our program. 
  • Ripon Youth Football has been granted an approved application to bring the NFL Flag CO-ED football league to Ripon for K-5th grade.  For the past two seasons we have tried to convince the YMCA the benefits of adopting the NFL flag 5-on-5 rules, but our efforts have been unsuccessful.  Ripon Youth Football is on the front end of the changes occurring nationally to take contact out of youth football and embrace programs like those offered by USA football and the NFL Flag football. Come to our annual meeting on May 11th at 6:30 (Ripon High School auditorium) to learn more, or contact me directly if you have questions about this exciting change to our program.  
  • Ripon Youth Football is looking for head football coaches to coach our 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams.  This season we are specifically looking for a 6th grade head football coach and a 7th grade head football coach.  We are looking for qualified individuals who have a passion for youth football and a desire to coach one of these age groups year after year. We will still be leaning on parents as assistants, but our goal is to find qualified coaches and to partner with the high school coaching staff in teaching the fundamentals of tackle football and prepare our young athletes for heart of the valley play, but more importantly, to prepare them for high school.


  • Our primary fundraising event will be in the fall and will likely be with Hansen's Foods; selling pizzas like we did last year.  For more information about the products that we will be asking the kids to sell, please reference this web site:  Each Ripon Youth Football Athlete IS expected to participate in our fundraiser, which helps to raise the necessary capital required to provide you and your athlete with a safe and quality football program.

(Coaches must be at contacts days as well)....Just helmets!

We are offering a free 5th, 6th, and 7th Grade Youth Skills camp with the High School Coaching Staff.  This is currently scheduled for:

The K-5th grade flag season is not set in stone but we are looking at a six week season  where the games would be played in Ripon on 8/27, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 101, and 10/8.  We are looking at having these games in the morning, with the exception of 9/24 and 10/1.  On those two dates we are trying to organize evening games.  We have invited our neighboring community, Berlin, to also send teams, and they are actively organizing themselves to do just that.  We have set the program up so that each player gets a reversible NFL Flag jersey, and their own set of flags to keep as part of their registration. 

We will be launching in May a new website that will be used to better communicate important information about our program as well as serve as our portal for online registration.  Our current site,, will be updated in May, so check back often for more information.
